About

The Conception Of HIT

Founder Euan Bowen, an avid rugby player, was inspired to develop the technology following a serious concussion sustained by a close friend and team-mate during a game.

Concussions and other brain injuries are routinely unreported, the device was designed to remove the grey area around when a head injury has been sustained. Allowing the athlete and coach to make informed decisions on when to be removed from sport.

The device allows an athlete to avoid secondary impacts and further risk. The device was also designed to assist in a fast effective treatment which is critical to brain recovery.

The project gained national media coverage so Euan was encouraged to transform his project into a business with co-founder Andrew Wright and moved into the Heriot Watt University Business Incubator, in early 2019.

Our mission at HIT is to change the way head injuries are diagnosed and protect athletes now and those of the future.
